About Me
Hello and welcome, my name is Michelle!
After becoming a mother in 2012 and experiencing all the joy and wonder a child adds to the world, I was inspired to start caring for other children in my home, as I realized I had a genuine passion for nurturing young minds and helping them grow. It also meant that I could be with my own children during the day, watching them thrive alongside the other children in my care. Since that time, I have returned to school to obtain my Early Childhood Education Diploma, which has allowed me to steadily expand on my program to ensure that the children in my care are not only safe and loved but also utilizing their full developmental potential, which is done through a combination of structured activities, routine scheduling and a learning through play approach.
“Art nurtures a child’s cognitive, emotional, and social growth. It helps develop fine motor skills, problem-solving, and emotional expression, while fostering patience, creativity, and cultural awareness, all essential for their overall development."
Because of my love for the outdoors and passion for art, I knew I wanted a curriculum that focused on both. Learning through nature offers children a rich, hands-on experience that sparks curiosity and discovery. When children explore the outdoors, they engage their senses, develop problem-solving skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the natural world. Activities like counting rocks, observing insects, or building with sticks naturally introduce important concepts in math, science, and art in a fun, meaningful way. Nature-based learning also encourages physical activity, mindfulness, and a sense of wonder, helping children connect with their environment while supporting all areas of development.
